In order to answer our honorable visitors and customers, we wanted to comment and explain little bit more about the fact.
As it is, Chennai IT Park is expected to happen by end of this year. Hopefully!!!
When we say Chennai IT park, it is a building from ELCOT (tamil nadu government). Once that is up and running, we need companies to occupy the building and become functional. After that more and more companies has to come and occupy the lands near by and build offices.
More MNC has to come in that area etc.,
That is when we have real success of Chennai IT Park!!
As it is, Chennai IT park from Government is the first step and land allotment for all the companies is another great step towards the IT Park success in Chennai!!!

Chennai IT Park progress - July 22nd 2010
Just couple of days back, Information Minister Poongothai mentioned that most of the work for IT park of Chennai is completed and it is expected for the completion of the project and Chennai IT Park will be ready by third week of September 2010.
However, as per today's news - it is heard that there is too much lag in the progress of Chennai IT park project. Electricity, water facility, chilling facility etc., are not yet done. Overall, it looks like only 30% of the work is done, though it was mentioned that 70% was done.
While Trichy, Coimbatore's IT Park is ready or almost ready to be used by Software companies, Chennai IT park is suffering this much and it is not getting completed! Why is that so?
Also - slowly software companies are reconsidering and renegotiating for their settlement in Chennai.
If we don't facilitate proper infrastructure and IT buildings/campus for the companies, it would be difficult for us to get started with IT park in Chennai.
The budget is allocated, private enterprises are engaged for building the IT park and why it is delayed for launching IT park in Chennai. What is the reason IT park in Chennai is being talking past 2 years, but the project is not completed at all, even though the deadlines are crossed so many times.

Chennai IT Park - Vadapalanji - News and Update - Starting in September 2010
The long awaited IT Park in Chennai is to be started in September 2010, said the minister. There are two sites for IT Park in Chennai and they are - Vadapalanji and another one is Ilandaikulam. Vadapalanji IT park in Chennai is made of 16 crores and Ilandaikulam is constructed of 15 crores. Vadapalanji is in the southern part of Chennai and Ilandaikulam is in the northern part of Chennai.
Minister Poongothai said that few more materials are expected from France and Ireland. Almost 75% of the construction work is done in both the sites. It is planned to start the operations of IT Park in Chennai by third week of the September 2010.
Also it is said that it creates direct employment for 5000 people and indirect employment for 20,000 people. As more and more companies come in and settle in Chennai, it would create employment for 25,000 to 50,000 people.
We are very excited about Chennai IT Park, one of the first of its kind in Chennai. Though it is too late for a second tier and major city of Tamil nadu - it is never too late. Chennai247 is very excited about this new shift for Chennai.

1) Airport Expansion to International Terms - New Terminal Foundation.
2) Chennai Tidel Park in Chennai North - near Mattuthavani

This function is scheduled to happen this weekend on 26th of April in the Chennai Airport.
